Kiffin fired, Davis completely off his rocker?

Just caught both a clip of the Al Davis press conference in which he announced why he fired head coach Lane Kiffin, and Kiffin's rebuttal interview on SportsCenter.  Is there any doubt all that California sun has fried Davis' brain?  He sounded like a snotty high school girl justifying why she was dumping the nicest guy in class.

"He wouldn't spend time with my friends (ie. play the players I wanted him to).  He spread rumors about me behind my back.  When we had bad dates (ie. games), it was because he wouldn't listen to me when I told him what we should do.  He lies.  He talked smack about my friends (ie. the Raiders organization)."

Just as many snotty high school girls who break up with boys for no real reason, Davis fails to recognize that HE is the problem!!!  Not only that, if you asked a girl out because she had a reputation for being classy and glamorous (ie. the Raiders of the '70s and early '80s), and realized while you were dating she was in fact a first class psychotic bee-atch, might that not drive you to do some atypical things to cope?

Davis accused Kiffin of leaking his frustrations about Davis to the press.  It appears Kiffin was neutered of any real power in the organization early on and now has essentially been run out of town by the whim of this crazy old man a year after being paraded in and venerated by the same crazy old man.  Being frustrated by that and talking about it seems pretty human to me.  Plus Kiffin probably started seeing the writing on the wall and figured he'd better get some pieces of his side of the story out early so that he might someday get a head coaching job again.  Although any owner who wants to take a shot at Kiffin will likely dismiss Davis' comments about him because of how obviously nuts Davis is.

Heaven help you Oakland players and fans, because Al Davis won't.  The train wreck known as the Raiders is still picking up steam.  Wait until Davis fires new coach Tom Cable, or he leaves for the sake of his own sanity, and Davis starts "courting" coaches again.  Anyone really going to want to work for him?  It was hard enough to convince Kiffin to do it.  Legit coaches who expect to be treated with some modicum of respect won't be picking up the phone when they see Davis on the caller-ID.
